New owner guide
Make delivery day your first successful trip.
Delivery day is not a ceremony to rush through. It is a hands-on lesson in the systems that will make every later trip easier.

01
Prepare questions before the keys arrive.
Review the manuals and purchase documents you receive ahead of time, then create one list of questions. Include storage, towing or driving, campsite setup, power, water, climate, safety equipment, appliances, connectivity, winterization, and routine care.
Bring the people who will operate the Airstream regularly. Take notes or short videos only with permission, and organize them by system so you can find the answer at camp instead of searching through one long recording.
02
Operate the systems yourself.
Practice connecting and disconnecting power and water, reading monitors, using climate controls, converting beds, operating doors and windows, and handling the waste system. For a trailer, rehearse hitching, unhitching, brake-control understanding, stabilizing, and the departure walkaround. For a touring coach, review driving controls, passenger restraints, parking, and camp-mode systems.
Ask what is automatic, what requires a sequence, what should never be operated in a certain condition, and what warning signs need immediate attention. The goal is understanding, not memorizing every page of a manual.
- Practice the complete arrival and departure sequence
- Locate shutoffs, breakers, fuses, safety equipment, and key identifiers
- Confirm which manuals and warranties apply to installed components
If you will operate it at a campsite, practice it before you leave the dealership.
03
Leave with a support plan.
Save the dealership and service contacts, understand how to request help, and note the initial maintenance milestones for the exact unit. Confirm any open items in writing and make sure keys, accessories, remotes, documents, and agreed equipment are present.
Choose a simple first overnight close to home. Delivery day gives you the map; one calm practice trip turns it into experience.
